MAKING DISCIPLES OF JESUS CHRIST FOR THE TRANSFORMATION OF THE WORLD!
UNITED WOMEN IN FAITH
Membership in the UNITED WOMEN IN FAITH is open to any woman who indicates her desire to belong and participate in the global mission of the church through this organization.
Our PURPOSE is to be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
MEMBERSHIP IN UNITED WOMEN IN FAITH
We accomplish these goals in many ways. We have five circles that meet monthly (except in summer months) in the parlor.
RUTH — 1st Tuesday at 1:00pm
(no meetings Jan. & Feb.)
LYDIA — 1st Tuesday at 7:00 pm
NAOMI — 1st Thursday at 9:30 am
PRISCILLA — 2nd Tuesday at 9:30 am
BOOK CLUB — 2nd Wednesday at 6:00 pm
These five circles comprise our UNIT which meets the 4th Tuesday at various times except for March, June, July and November.
In September, we plan our calendar, budget, and elect new officers for the following year. Each circle uses the same program material with the exception of the Book Club.
We participate in a Reading Program of suggested books, in our church library, on mission topics. Each circle receives a copy of our official magazine, The Response.
We provide times of celebrations in our church family by hosting 90th birthdays, Golden Age Luncheon, Mother/Daughter Banquet, Betsy Bazaar, United Women in Faith church service. We provide funeral dinners, Eastside Mission, local schools, and hospitals. This is a BRIEF look of who we are.
The best way to understand UNITED WOMEN IN FAITH is to become one!

UM MEN
The ministry of men in the local church is defined as a core group of men, partnering with their pastor, to invite and initiate spiritual growth opportunities for all men of the church. Everyone has different gifts, graces, and areas of interest. Therefore, opportunities for participation would include diverse ministries of the church, such as prayer groups, missions, Bible studies, retreats, workshops/seminars, small groups in the Wesleyan tradition, leading and participating on committees, teaching Sunday school classes, youth ministries, scouting, mentoring, and assisting in leading worship service. The focus is not inward, concentrating only on those who attend a set meeting, but outward to all men, assisting them to engage the process of spiritual growth.
WHY IS MEN’S MINISTRY IMPORTANT?
-
Men lead others best by modeling Jesus Christ in thoughts, words, and deeds.
-
Spiritual maturity is signified in spiritual reproduction, as the faith of mature disciples passes on in others.
-
Men growing in Christ become effective spiritual leaders in their homes and congregations, working as partners with their spouses and congregational leaders-both lay and clergy.
-
Spiritually growing men help congregations to become vital and alive.
-
Everything desired from and through men comes as a result of men growing spiritually and maturing as disciples: family blessings, stewardship, service, outreach, prayer, spiritual leadership, lifestyle evangelism, and faithful obedience. Men are foundational to the life and health of the church.
-
When a man lives daily in surrendered faith, God is honored, and many lives are blessed. Transformed hearts are forged only within Christ-centered lives-nothing less is our acceptable offering; nothing less truly reveals Christ.
MISSION
Our mission is to support spiritual growth among men, helping men to mature as disciples as they encourage spiritual formation in others.
PATHWAY
Our pathway is a lifelong commitment to spiritual growth to maturity as Christ followers. Our spiritual formation is marked by spiritual reproduction, as our faith passes on in others.
GOAL
Our goal is to empower the ministry of Jesus Christ through men within the congregations of the UMC.
SMALL GROUPS
PASTOR'S STUDY
Thursdays at 7pm, the pastor leads a group book study lasting 4 to 10 weeks per book. There are always opportunities for new participants. Past subjects include books by Desmond Tutu and What I Coulda Shoulda Woulda Learned in Confirmation.
SUNDAY MORNING
Sunday Morning we offer an adult class before worship at 9am in the Chapel. The topic and leadership vary throughout the year and is always open to new people.
SPIRITUAL FORMATION
This is a long-term group that meets for deepening faith and mutual support in their spiritual journey. It is not currently open to new members; however, they are willing to share how they got started and can help in the creation of similar groups.
