Welcome to the Davison United Methodist Church (DUMC) online. Outside cyberspace, we are located, for over 135 years now, at the corner of Main and Third streets in downtown Davison, Michigan! We are of the church you can see advertised on television, with “Open Hearts, Open Minds, and Open Doors”. Our aim is to be welcoming to all persons. On this site you will discover user-friendly things, from a current calendar of up-coming events, to some description of who are the United Methodist people. The navigation bar above will help you search.

From our foundation in the Wesleyan heritage, we are about: the doing of no harm and the avoidance of evil of every kind; the doing of good with mercy to all, as opportunities present themselves; and observing the ordinances of God, among them public worship, Baptism and Holy Communion, the life of prayer, Bible reading, and other spiritual disciplines. We are a people who emphasize God’s loving grace at work in our lives (once known as the “religion of the warmed heart”), who have expressed that with a two hundred twenty five year history of love for God and social concerns – for the poor, the oppressed suffering injustices around the globe. First and foremost we value Scripture; but also feel the Christian life is guided by the traditions of the Church, personal experience, and our God-given powers of reason.

DUMC’s mission statement is to “Invite, Equip, and Send into the World Disciples of Jesus Christ”, for the transformation of the world. We hope you’ll find herein your invitation to join us, in worship, in prayer, in Bible study, or any of our other ministries and opportunities for local and global service. Wherever you are in your journey, others of us are there too; and we would journey with you in being equipped to serve God by learning from Jesus and living in the power of the Holy Spirit.

We often hear that we are known as an appropriately friendly and welcoming church. Surely there is a place in our congregational life for you. We’d love sometime soon to greet you in person.
