Membership in the United Methodist Women is open to any woman who indicates her desire to belong and participate in the global mission of the church through this organization.
Our PURPOSE is to be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
We accomplish these goals in many ways. We have five circles that meet monthly (except in summer months) in the parlor.
Ruth– 1st Tuesday of the month at 1:00pm (no meetings Jan.& Feb.)
Lydia– 1st Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.
Naomi– 1st Thursday at 9:30 a.m.
Priscilla-2nd Tuesday at 9:30 a.m.
Book club– 2nd Wednesday at 6:00 p.m.
These five circles comprise our UNIT which meets the 4th Tuesday at various times with exception of March, June, July and November.
In September, we plan our calendar, budget, and elect new officers for the following year. Each circle uses the same program material with the exception of the book club.
We participate in a Reading Program of suggested books, in our church library, on mission topics. Each circle receives a copy of our official magazine, The Response .
We provide times of celebrations in our church family by hosting 90th birthdays, Golden Age Luncheon, Mother/Daughter Banquet , Betsy Bazaar, UMW church service. We provide funeral dinners, support our clothing room, Eastside Mission, local schools and hospitals . This is a BRIEF look of who we are. The best way to understand UMW is to become one!
