Rev. Peggy Garrigues-Cortelyou
Pastor Peggy has a long history of exploring faith, the meaning of life, and how to make a difference in the world. She grew up in a suburb of Chicago, then came to U of M in Ann Arbor for her undergrad degree in Social Change. After seminary in Washington, DC, Peggy has been Associate Pastor at congregations in Howell, Fenton, Chelsea, and Ann Arbor. She has also led nature retreats and music ministry for several years. She currently works half-time as campus minister with college students in Ann Arbor, and half-time as youth pastor here. She lives in Otisville with her husband Carter, who is minister at Otisville and West Forest United Methodist Churches, and their two sons (and youth ministry consultants), Jeremiah, 15, and Isaac, 13.
In her free time, she enjoys Scottish fiddling, reading, giving presentations on global warming, going to concerts their sons perform in, playing with their cats, doing meditation and tai chi, volunteering at a land stewardship center, and cooking fresh, organic produce they get every week from a farm in Columbiaville.
